About Us

Curriculum

At Tik Tak Childcare Day Nursery & Pre-School, we offer a well-rounded, inspiring curriculum that helps every child grow with confidence, curiosity, and care. Rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), our curriculum is also shaped by three powerful educational approaches:

  • The Scouting Method – promoting life skills, independence, teamwork, and outdoor learning

  • Elements of the Montessori Method – supporting self-directed play, hands-on learning, and a calm, structured environment

  • The Le Bon Départ Method – using rhythm, movement, and music to develop early motor and language skills

Together, these approaches help us provide a holistic learning experience—supporting children’s emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development.

We follow all seven areas of learning outlined in the EYFS, including:

  • Communication & language

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social & emotional development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts & design

Our goal is to provide every child with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive—at nursery and beyond.

Our team carefully plans weekly activities based on:

  • Children’s interests

  • Seasons, celebrations, and cultural festivals

  • Developmental needs and next steps

We support bilingual children, celebrate diversity, and foster British Values—such as respect, liberty, and community. Every child is seen as unique, capable, and full of potential.

We make learning fun and meaningful through:

  • Toy Library with over 60 themed resource boxes

  • Book and Visual Library to support language-rich environments

  • Special projects like our “Travel Around the World” programme, where 4-year-olds explore continents through music, food, language, and play

  • Indoor and outdoor play spaces designed to encourage exploration, challenge, and joy

Each child is paired with a Key Person who offers comfort, care, and individual support. This close relationship helps your child feel safe and happy, and ensures that learning is personalised and well-monitored. Parents are always kept informed and involved.

We observe and assess children:

  • At the start of their time with us

  • Termly (3× per year) through regular observations and progress checks

  • At transition, with detailed reports to support their move to school or the next setting

We use Baby’s Days, a secure online platform, to record and monitor each child’s progress. This also allows us to communicate with parents easily and regularly, sharing updates, photos, next steps, and learning goals. Parents can log in anytime to stay closely connected to their child’s development.

Our assessments are thoughtful and used to plan personalised next steps—always with the child’s best interest at heart.
