Special Programmes at Tik Tak Childcare
At Tik Tak Childcare, we go beyond standard early years education by offering a range of enriching programmes that bring learning to life in creative and meaningful ways. These special experiences are thoughtfully tailored to each age group to support children’s development, curiosity, and confidence.
About Us
For Babies (0–2 years)
Our youngest children benefit from a gentle, nurturing start. At this stage, our focus is on building secure attachments, providing excellent care, and creating a smooth transition from home into the nursery environment.
Our baby programme includes:
- Consistent routines that support emotional security and wellbeing
- Sensory play using soft, natural, and Montessori-inspired materials
- Gentle rhythm and movement sessions (Le Bon Départ)
- Exploration of the immediate environment through supervised floor play, pram walks, and outdoor sensory experiences
- A calm, responsive setting where each baby’s individual rhythms and needs are respected
This foundational period sets the stage for confident development, early communication, and joyful discovery.

For Toddlers (2–3 years)
Toddlers are eager to explore, make choices, and express their growing independence. Our special focus with this age group is on building early life skills, nurturing language development, and encouraging active discovery through play.
Toddler programme highlights:
- Hands-on learning through open-ended play and purposeful routines
- Daily Le Bon Départ sessions to support movement, rhythm, and motor skills
- Montessori-inspired activities that encourage independence and focus
- Real-world tasks (inspired by the Scout Method), like helping tidy up, self-care, and teamwork
- Regular outdoor time in our garden, with access to natural materials, bikes, and sensory spaces
Through this active, supportive environment, toddlers learn to navigate their world with confidence, joy, and growing capability.
About Us
For Pre-schoolers (3-4 years) – Travel Around the World
Our signature programme invites children to explore global cultures through weekly themed activities. We “visit” a new country each week through stories, music, food, art, and language, encouraging children to celebrate diversity and broaden their understanding of the world.
Highlights include:
- Traditional cooking activities like making crêpes, onigiri, or spaghetti
- Learning simple words and greetings in different languages
- Creating art, crafts, and costumes inspired by global cultures
- Listening to stories and music from around the world
At Tik Tak Childcare – Day Nursery & Pre‑School, our “Travel Around the World” programme takes children on a virtual journey across continents right from our nursery classroom. Designed especially for our four-year-olds, this fun and immersive experience brings different cultures to life through hands-on learning and play.

What We Do:
Virtual Globe-Trotting: Each week, children explore a new continent—Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and more—learning interesting facts about its people, animals, landmarks, and languages.
Cultural Discovery Activities: We engage children in themed crafts, music, stories, dance, and traditional greetings from the region they’re “visiting.”
Cooking Traditional Meals: Little chefs help prepare simple dishes or snacks inspired by the culture—for example, salsa tasting from Latin America or fun French crêpes.
Language & Communication: Children hear simple words or songs in a different language and are encouraged to share greetings in their own home languages, reinforcing our multilingual ethos.
Children love the excitement of “visiting” new places each week. They enjoy dressing up, trying new foods, dancing to different music, and learning fun facts about people and animals from around the world. The programme feels like an adventure, making learning playful and meaningful. It sparks their curiosity and gives them something new to look forward to each time.

At Tik Tak Childcare, our Library isn’t just about books—it’s a rich, hands-on learning space filled with carefully selected visual materials, educational toys, and natural resources that spark curiosity, creativity, and purposeful learning.
We believe that children learn best when materials are engaging, meaningful, and visually inviting. Our collection includes:
Visual aids to support early language, numeracy, and concept development
Montessori-inspired resources that promote independence and focused exploration
Cultural and thematic toys linked to our curriculum, including real-world and open-ended items
Unlimited access to natural materials such as wood, fabric, stones, and baskets—supporting sensory play, imagination, and connection with the natural world
To support effective planning and easy access, we’ve developed a purpose-built storage system for teachers. This allows staff to organise, rotate, and curate materials based on each child’s interests, developmental stage, and current themes. It ensures that learning remains fresh, relevant, and responsive.
