Preschool is often a child’s first step toward formal education — but it doesn’t have to feel formal at all. What is preschool?

Preschool is an early years stage for children aged roughly 2.5 to 5 years, just before they start primary school. It offers a more structured learning experience than nursery for toddlers, but it’s still rooted in play, relationships and child-led exploration.

Preschools in Milton Keynes can be standalone, attached to schools, or part of private nurseries like Tik Tak. Ours is open year-round, with flexible hours to suit family needs.

The preschool experience at Tik Tak

Our preschool room is a purposefully prepared environment where older children:

At Tik Tak, we help children build these skills through daily routines, role play, stories, and positive relationships with their key person.

Bilingual and inclusive preschool care

Many of our preschoolers speak more than one language — and we see this as a strength. Our team uses visual aids, gestures, and multilingual support to help every child feel understood and empowered.

We also support children with additional needs through tailored strategies, close observation and strong partnerships with families and professionals.
